Three transport axes cross at Ust-Kut: the Taishet–Lena railway with a link to BAM, the Lena river basin with Osetrovo — the largest river port on the Upper Lena — and road corridors into Yakutia and the north-east of Irkutsk Oblast. That's why northern supply has run through this city for decades.
Three transport axes
Rail: the Taishet–Lena branch
The default way to bring bulk shipments from European Russia, the Urals and Siberia. Transfer onto road and river happens in Ust-Kut. It's the shortest 'road leg' for any cargo heading into Yakutia and the northern districts of the oblast.
River basin: Osetrovo and the Lena fleet
During the navigation season the bulk of northern supply moves by water. Osetrovo is the largest river port on the Upper Lena; cargo leaves for Kirensk, Lensk, Yakutsk and further down the tributaries. A road leg from Irkutsk or Krasnoyarsk into Osetrovo closes the chain.
Road corridors
The federal A-331 Vilyuy highway through Ust-Kut runs north-east and, via the ice crossing, connects to Yakutia. In parallel — a network of oilfield roads toward Verkhnemarkovo, Peleduy and the Bodaybo leg. This node serves every major project by the Irkutsk Oil Company and neighbouring operators.
What it means for the shipper
- Shipment consolidation: freight from every mode converges on a single yard.
- Transfer between road / river / rail — without extra legs.
- Our own 4 ha closed yard — storage before dispatch.
- Service bay and staff mechanics — PM and quick repair between runs.

Typical project scheme
The shipper sends cargo from anywhere in Russia with delivery into Ust-Kut (by rail, road or river). Transfer happens on our yard onto the final-leg mode — road for year-round delivery into Yakutia and the north, or river during navigation. Everything closes under a single reporting line — no gaps between carriers.
If your project targets Yakutia, the Upper Lena or northern-supply sites, come through Ust-Kut. It's shorter and cheaper than via Irkutsk or Krasnoyarsk. Drop us a line — we'll build the corridor.
